Our goal is to lead in delivering values-based services and to promote activities that respond to the needs and desires of the people in our community. We strive to achieve this by enhancing relationships and investing in activities that align with our vision.
Below is a summary of Kinsight’s five strategic deliverables:
Leadership and Vision
All aspects of the Society are guided by our new Mission, Vision and Values statements.
The Mission, Vision and Values will be understood and promoted by the staff and volunteers of the organization.
Values-Based Services and Activities
Service planning processes and Society activities are person and family centered, and focused on relationship and contribution.
Planning across the Society (strategic, departmental, program and individual), recognizes the current and potential opportunities for relationships and contributions at home, at work, and in neighbourhoods.
The organization is flexible and able to respond to needs for individualized supports and services throughout the lifespan.
Services and supports are individually tailored and include access to a broad range of options (such as Community Inclusion and Supported Child Development for Youth). Consistent with our vision, this will include options within and outside of Kinsight (i.e. facilitating inclusion and promoting full citizenship within community)
Building Upon and Encouraging Relationships
Increased access, participation and sense of belonging in community.
We will have clearly identified options regarding relationships we can pursue that will result in increased opportunities for access, participation and belonging.
Investment in Activities that Align with our Mission and Vision
The organization offers new community-based options that foster relationships and independence.
New services and supports will be developed for both youth and adults to promote community connections and competitive employment.
In addition to a number of specific strategies within the full plan, our work toward each of these goals requires that we:
- Maximize our use of community and public resources by concentrating on our areas of expertise and identifying complimentary community resources;
- Leverage relationships with partners (individuals and organizations) through the development of formalized plans to link and share resources that will increase capacity;
- Align our HR practices (recruitment, orientation, training, scheduling and support) to achieve maximum flexibility, responsiveness and commitment;
- Review our policies and related procedures to ensure alignment with our goals, Mission, Vision and Values.
