Kinsight New West & Tri-Cities Family and Children’s Services Picnic BBQs

Family and Children’s Services held their annual Summer Family Picnics this month, and what a success they were!

Despite some on-again off-again drizzle at the New Westminster Children’s Centre BBQ, kids and their families enjoyed all the food and activities the evening had to offer.

Even the Kinsight staff got in on the fun!

Together, they blew bubbles, tossed monkeys and rings, painted pots and faces, played with parrots and parachutes, and ate delicious food. Martine and her bird, Lorito, taught an audience the best way to shoot hoops, while some of us snuck bites of hotdogs and chips.

The Tri-cities BBQ this past Thursday was full of laughter, full bellies, neat creatures, and music. Martine was back with her birds and reptiles, while families were fed with barbeque and brownies. The evening ended with a performance by Toni Prophet that had everyone on their feet and dancing. Even Mayor Richard Stewart was joining in on the tambourine in his breaks between grilling hot dogs.

We are thrilled that the BBQs went so well and were happy to see so many families there. Thank you for another successful Family Summer Picnic season!
