Now & Next Youth: Presented at annual InclusionBC conference

In late May, a group of parent and youth facilitators had an opportunity to showcase Now & Next, a family leadership initiative, at InclusionBC’s annual conference, held in Nanaimo.

Now & Next has been offered through Kinsight since 2018 and was designed to help parents create a vision and plan for their child, their family and themselves. Last year, Kinsight collaborated with Now & Next’s creators to customize the initiative for youth.

Joshua Chen, an alumni of Kinsight’s youth program, is one of Kinsight’s facilitators trained to deliver the youth version of Now & Next. During the conference, Joshua shared his experience with the program and how it will support youth in exploring and setting goals and strengthening personal leadership and advocacy. Youth facilitators are supported with resources and techniques, including Pictability — an innovative goal setting tool.
