Kinsight & Partners Support Production of ‘A Place Where I Belong’
A Place Where I Belong is a powerful new documentary directed by Rheanna Toy that follows six 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities as they navigate identity, love, and belonging through the groundbreaking Connecting Queer Communities (CQC) program. The film had its world premiere at the Vancouver Queer Film Festival on September 14th.
Since 2012, posAbilities, the Burnaby Association for Community Inclusion (BACI) and Kinsight have been working together towards a single purpose — producing better outcomes for persons with intellectual disabilities and their families. Despite offering innovative services and enjoying good relationships and reputations with the people and families we serve, the reality remained that many people were living less than full lives, not truly a part of our community. Together with InWithForward, our three organizations continue to seek out opportunities to increase social awareness and effect change in the way people of all ages, genders, orientations and abilities are included in our society. We are proud to be a part of the CQC initiative and Executive Producers of this film.
