Being a main caregiver for a family member who has a disability is a large responsibility that can, at times, leave one feeling overwhelmed, short on time, and exhausted. Even so, it is important to also take the time to care for yourself.
During this session, Don Lasell, a Registered Clinical Counsellor who specializes in working with families having children with special needs (and is the parent of two children on the Autism Spectrum), will present on and discuss personal wellness, assessing personal wellness and self-care, strategies and suggestions for managing stress and fitting time in for yourself, and maintaining a healthy relationship in the midst of parenting challenges.
This session is suitable for anyone (parents, siblings, grandparents, adult children) who is a main caregiver to a family member of any age with a disability.
Registration for this session is required by October 11, 2018.
